COMPETITION PROGRAM

The Competition Team (COMP) is designed for intermediate to expert skiers (ages 8-19) who have a strong technical background and have ideally completed the DEVO Program (but not required).  COMP racers learn the fundamental techniques needed to compete in the Slalom and Giant Slalom racing disciplines. To hone our athlete’s skills, training includes drills designed to reinforce and improve foundational and advanced skill sets and applying those within tailored race courses (gate training).  Racing techniques transition perfectly to general all-mountain skiing, resulting in advanced/expert skiers with life-long skills.

Racers have the opportunity to compete in local and regional USSA races. COMP racers train four days a week in small groups with experienced coaches who create a fun and challenging experience. TMART hosts an official USSA race at Tussey Mountain annually, and it is encouraged for all COMP athletes to at least participate in the home-race weekend. Most COMP athletes elect to travel to all of the regional races at surrounding mountains in addition to the home race. Refer to the 2022 Race Schedule Here.
